SEEKING WRITERS/BLOGGERS FOR THINK GOOD THOUGHTS

Think Good Thoughts has been the voice of one person for several years. Yes, there have been commenter and contributors, but it has really been a single person's rant for the most part.

It is time for a changes. The interest in the blog has increased while other writing projects have taken my attention. So, I would like to open the door for other writers to contribute their work toward the Think Good Thoughts content.

Let me just say first that there is no money involved. This blog started as a protest against unfairness -- unfairness and injustice in my personal life and throughout the political system. As I move forward into a new era, I would like the blog to reflect other viewpoints, even those with which I disagree.

So, if you are interested in being a contributor to the site, please contact me and we can talk.

If you already have a blog and your content is akin to the Think Good Thoughts site, let me know and we can work on syndicating each other's blogs.

Here is a brief history: In 1984 I got interested in computing and quickly found an underground of hackers and ne'er-do-wells among the computer bulletin board systems. I quickly set up a BBS on my Commodore 64 at 300 baud and for me, computing became all about human interaction, not about gamming or hacking code. Within a couple of years, my BBS, named Playmaker's Station, had grown and I decided that I should focus on grown-up entertainment and themes. I added a second phone line (which was a big deal back then) and even offered a method of letting people send email through what was to become the Internet.  I also allowed uploading and downloading of adult content, which got a little national attention.

By 1987 Playmaker's station was a big deal, attracting callers and messages from around the country. One of the most attractive sections was the politics bulletin board, where people could rant and argue anonymously. Since I filtered membership to adults only, discussions on that bulletin board were extremely frank and often inflammatory. I attracted several writers who wrote under pseudonyms that became infamous in the BBS world: Wonko the Sane, Bertha Venation, Heroine Hayse and the one and only Chastity DuBois (who really was a straight man, by the way). Some of these writers actually took on a couple of personalities, playing against their own gender and would carry on arguments with themselves. It was a very, very exciting time, especially for those of us who took none of it seriously.

By 1990 the Internet had taken over the BBS world. Some made the transition to the internet, but some did not. Playmaker's Station was one of those that did not. I think I also may have moved past it too.  So, I shut it down, hoping that one day I would start it back up again.  As it turns out, Facebook and MySpace do the same thing as the BBSes did, only so much better that there will never be another Playmaker's Station. This doesn't mean, however, that there isn't room on the web for frank and honest opinion. Opinion that is direct and off the cuff, not laboring under the guise of political correctness.

So a couple of years ago, I resurrected the Playmaker character -- a rough-talking, ultra-liberal with a flair for the dramatic.  He now writes as the bizzaro-Limbaugh, yelling and screaming foul at the injustices that are caused by the conservatives.

Do you have a character that might fit into Think Good Thoughts?  Do you like to write but would like to have a different medium for your thoughts? Do you get that Think Good Thoughts is an ironic name?  If you grock, drop me an email.
