Is It Racism? in Politics written by Playmaker on 09/17/2009 Many have claimed -- especially after Republican Joe Wilson 'hollered' at the President Obama on the floor of the House of Representatives -- that there is an overwhelming air of racism in the objections that Tea Baggers and the GOP have to the president's ideas. Lest we forget, these are the same people -- monkey brandishing, dixiecratic, Palin-loving uneducated conservatives -- who vehemently supported the most deceitful president of all time and claimed that anyone who didn't was not patriotic. But now that the shoe is on the other foot, they are claiming foul when we say that it is likely that a lack of support for the president is demonstrative of racism. It is unbearable to think that our most vocal minority is doing the very same thing for which they cursed their opponents only three short years ago. There can be no doubt that many who disagree with the president are average Americans with no agenda other than following their conscience, just as there was no doubt that to question George Bush and his government was the pinnacle of patriotism. That being said, no Bush antagonist ever showed up at a McCain/Palin rally with guns strapped to their backs nor stuffed monkeys on a noose nor shouted from the gallery of the senate nor brandished signs reading "Hang the cranky old cracker and his mother of a whore running-mate." We said as much on blogs on in private, to be sure, but the lack of decorum has reached a level that is shocking. Let's just consider, as well, which part of Obama's speech drew the cry from Jesse Helm's old crony Wilson: it wasn't the president's comments regarding how much healthcare would cost or who will pay for it. No. It was the comment that Obama's plan would not cover illegal aliens. Clearly, Joe Wilson's outburst was directed at a misguided belief that Mexicans will be covered, and considering Wilson's track record, it is not surprising that we are now accusing him and his donors of racism. Let us all remember also that when President Bush blatantly lied to Congress about yellow cake uranium from Niger and aluminum tubes in Baghdad not one single Democrat screamed, "You lie" from the floor. A lie that led us to war -- not a comment that could provide healthcare to citizens. This just goes to show that those who support the GOP are hypocrites -- there can be no doubt. This blog has pointed it out time and time again, and there is no reason to believe that they are suddenly telling the truth about not being motivated by racism. Well, of course there is racism in their comments, how else could it be considering their track record and their lack of substance in their arguments? BAH! |
